Hyderabad: The Lila Poonawalla Foundation (LPF), a non-profit organsation dedicated to empowering girls through education, hosted its Hyderabad Scholarship Award Function 2025 at the G Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Science on Sunday. The event celebrated academic excellence, mentorship, and women’s empowerment, bringing together students, educators, and corporate partners in an inspiring gathering.
The function was graced by Hussain Syed, Head of Service Delivery & Operations at Concentrix Hyderabad & Vizag, who served as the Chief Guest. In his address, Syed expressed pride in collaborating with LPF, noting that Concentrix is committed to supporting the education of engineering students in both Pune and Hyderabad. “It is an honour to partner with a foundation that is transforming the lives of so many deserving girls. We look forward to continuing this meaningful journey together,” he said.
In Hyderabad, scholarships were awarded to meritorious girl students pursuing undergraduate, Bachelor of Engineering, and Engineering After Diploma programs from colleges across the region. The initiative aims to support financially challenged but talented young women, enabling them to pursue higher education and professional careers.
Addressing the gathering, Lila Poonawalla, Chairperson of LPF, emphasised that the Foundation’s mission extends beyond financial assistance. “Our vision goes far beyond scholarships — it’s about nurturing leadership, self-confidence, and purpose. We aim to help each girl become a changemaker in her own right,” she said.
The event concluded with heartfelt appreciation to LPF’s Founder Trustees, Board of Trustees, Corporate Partners, Individual Donors, Trainers, Alumni, Well-wishers, and the Office Team, whose continued support sustains the Foundation’s transformative mission.
Earlier this month, LPF also celebrated its 30th Postgraduate Scholarship Award Function in Pune, with Dr Kiran Bedi, India’s first woman IPS officer and former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, as the Chief Guest — underscoring the Foundation’s three-decade-long legacy of impact and empowerment.
